Some specifics: I am 6', 245 and wear 52 jackets and 36' waist, with a 19' neck. I bought the XXL and it fits perfectly except the neck is right at the limit of tolerable. If my neck grows a 1/2, I will not be able to zip the collar.

This is without a doubt the best all-around motorcycle jacket I have ever had. I am a daily commuter by motorbike in the pacific North West averaging about 12K miles a year. Prior to this I was wearing a El Choate which was the best jacket I could find several years ago, but alas the Choate was starting to literally fall apart. Holes just started appearing in it this year. Anywho, the Patrol is in a class by itself. I tried on every jacket I could touch in the three major motorcycle shops in Seattle and many were comfortable, but they all tended to lack the general high quality of construction that can be found in the patrol. By way of analogy, it felt like all the others were Chevy Citations and the Patrol was a brand new Jaguar X JR, just really nice. Finally the clincher is the color; my goal for this jacket was to be highly visible without wearing my own lighted vest (prototypes kept shocking the feces out of me in the rain). The Patrol is bright to the point of obnoxious, many say "how could you wear that?" the only reasonable and polite answer I have is "I choose to live". Being seen in heavy rain or fog is the difference between being seen and being run over. If you never ride in the rain, don't waste the money on the Spec Yellow, it is brutal to look at, but that is the point during inclement weather. Enough rambling, some specifics about the jacket that swayed me:

Pros:
- Very well made, cannot be over stated.
- Magnetic fasteners work perfectly. Why did it take so long for someone to do this?
- Great ventilation, that works.
- Visible from the moon on cloudy nights.
- Jacket does not feel like a motorcycle jacket, more like a heavy ski jacket. If it was not for the color, I would wear it all the time. When I have tried to wear it into the office, the most common responses starts like "WTF are you wearing..."
Cons:
- For a light weight rider the jacket will be heavy. My wife says it is very heavy, but so am I, guess it is relative.
- Can never forget to zip a pocket in cold weather, jacket develops a venturi effect and will freeze you nearly instantly. I rode 15 miles with the breast pocket open in 30 degree weather and had chest pain for two hours from the cold on my boobies. Given it was totally my fault, but there should be a warning a beep or siren to remind me not to be stupid. (Half joking)
- My current gloves do not fit under or over the sleeves easily. This is fixed with new gloves, but be aware you will probably need new gloves.
- The storm collar rocks, but for me it is a bit tight. The collar needs elastic or some other adjustment.
- One zipper pull has pulled off; it looks like the sewi ng machine just ran out of thread. Contacting seller and will follow up with the outcome.

Final thought on the jacket, "Amazingly engineered and well thought out. A rider's jacket"

5Icon Jacket

Very Nice jacket. Offers good protection and lots of features. The air cooling works well, comfortable. Padding is well placed and I hope will work good, and I hope I never test it out. Recommend this jacket. Well worth the price. Very visible which is the name of the game for me.
